Phil Foden: should footballers have security guards after Manchester City star is abused on night out?

Social media footage emerged earlier this week of Manchester City star Phil Foden being verbally abused backstage at the Amir Khan vs Kell Brook boxing match.

The video, shared to the Sun, also shows the player’s mum Claire being punched as she intervenes to speak up for her son.

Foden did not appear to have any security people with him in the video clip, though the Mail has since reported that City offers players security if wanted, and other footballers choose to hire their own.
