Manchester has been revealed as the UK's most sceptical city in a recent survey which found one in three people would turn down a thousand pounds for free.

Manchester is the least trusting city in the country - according to a poll by Betfair casino - and 29 percent of Mancunians would snub anything from free coffee to a new car, or cash.

Three quarters of Brits admit they're looking for a catch instantly when offered something for nothing, and this includes Betfair Casino's new Prize Pinball game which is free to play and has a daily jackpot of one thousand pounds.

Betfair Casino set up an ‘everyone’s a winner’ pop-up pinball machine in Manchester city centre in March this year to test the research results.

Many chose not to play the game, Despite the promise that every single player would get a prize, However, one who didn’t was Adam Matthews, from Salford, who scooped the £1,000 jackpot prize.

The 31-year-old said: “I can’t believe it. I was out shopping with my sister and walked past the shed because you always think there’s a catch.

“But I’m glad I came back to give it a go.”

We wanted to try out this theory for ourselves and headed down to the city centre to ask local Mancunians how sceptical they are of free money.
