Tom Parker dies aged 33: The Wanted singer’s wife Kelsey Parker and stars pay tribute after his tragic death

The Bolton-born dad of two has died, after he revealed he had been diagnosed with a brain tumour in October 2020.

The Wanted singer Tom Parker had passed away at the age of 33. Tom was battling an inoperable brain tumour diagnosis, which he shared with fans in October 2020.

At the time, he was given just 18 months to live.

The Bolton-born star underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy and, despite his condition, was even able to join his fellow bandmates on stage during a highly-anticipated reunion tour.

Tom’s wife Kelsey Parker wrote a touching tribute to her late husband on Instagram. The couple have two young children.

Kelsey said: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side.

“Our hearts are broken, Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence.

“We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom’s light continues to shine for his beautiful children.

What has The Wanted said about Tom Parker’s death?

Band members Jay McGuiness, Nathan Sykes, Max George and Siva Kaneswaran shared the news of Tom’s death through a statement released on social media.

The band revealed that at the time of his “peaceful” passing, Tom was surrounded not only by his family, but also his bandmates.

The statement said: “Max, Jay, Siva, Nathan and the whole Wanted family are devastated by the tragic and premature loss of our bandmate Tom Parker, who passed away peacefully at lunchtime today surrounded by his family and his band mates.

“Tom was an amazing husband to Kelsey, and father to Aurelia and Bodhi.

“He was our brother, words can’t express the loss and sadness we feel. Always and forever in our hearts.”

Siva also posted a personal tribute to Tom on his own Instagram page, which read: “Hey Tom, hope you’re having a blast up there.

“I am so grateful that I had a chance to witness your true courage. It has been a pleasure of my life Tommy Boy.

“Thank you for letting us see you light up the world. Talk to you soon and see you later. Love you brother x”

Who else has paid tribute to Tom Parker?

Tributes have poured in for Tom from the world of music and television.

X Factor winner Joe McElderry tweeted his condolences to Tom’s family and friends, while ex-Strictly Come Dancing star James Jordan also shared his tribute.

He said: “Just heard that Tom Parker passed away. The same wicked disease that took my father. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. He was a very special man that I had the honour of meeting several times. Rest In Peace brother. My dad will be there waiting for you with a beer.”

Spandau Ballet singer and actor Martin Kemp paid tribute to Tom, saying: “Tom Parker, rest in peace my love goes out to all your family and all your friends.. your bravery, your fight and your spirit will never be forgotten”.

Rylan Clark also shared his condolences for the singer.

In a tweet, he said: “I’ve just seen the news about Tom and that’s absolutely gutting. He was such a good’un. So sad to hear. Sending my love to Kelsey and the kids. Awful news x #RipTom x”

Actress Tamzin Outhwaite called the news of Tom’s death “unbelievably tragic”.

Members of some of the UK’s biggest boy bands have also paid tribute to Tom.

Union J member JJ Hamblett said: “Just seen the news…I am speechless!!!”

“Tom Parker was such a nice guy who was an incredible artist and real family man!

“Such a cruel, cruel world… RIP Tom.. you will be missed but never never forgotten”.

Take That member Howard Donald added that he was sending “strength and love to his family.”
