Strictly Come Dancing’s Saffron Barker responds to romance rumours with former Gogglebox star Tom Malone Jr.

Saffron Barker and Tom Malone Jr have finally addressed the on-going rumours surrounding their romance.

The YouTuber, 22, posted a photo on Instagram of her and the Manchester-born Gogglebox star, 27, wearing a ‘couple’s costume’ to her New Years Eve party.

Rumours of their romance began circulating after the pair, who met on E4’s The Real Dirty Dancing, dressed as lovers Sandy and Danny from hit 1970’s film Grease.

However, Tom appeared on a recent episode of Saffron’s podcast Sex, Lies and DM Slides, to clear up the meaning behind the photo.

Tom, who no longer stars alongside his family on Gogglebox, joked: “We’ve actually been together for three years and no one knows.”

However, Saffron told her friend and co-host Anastasia Kingsnorth the truth: "Basically, the theme of my New Years Eve party was come as the first letter of your name.

“So immediately I was like, ‘I’m going to be Sandy from Grease’. Then I was like, ‘Oh my God, I really want a Danny’, and there was no Ds there, so I was like ‘what am I going to do’.

"Then I figured T Bird, so I literally just voice-noted Tom and was like, ‘Is there any way you can be my Danny and come as a T Bird?’, and so he did.”

Tom, who was planning to dress as Thor for the party, added: “It was an easier costume than what I was going to come as.”

The YouTuber continued: "I think everyone suddenly thought. It did look like a couple’s outfit, which it essentially is. So everyone thought we were together, but we’re not. That’s the truth.”

Anastasia agreed that she was “fooled” and described it as a “couple’s photo”.

Tom also posted the same photo to his Instagram, which left many fans wondering what happened between him and his girlfriend Bryony Briscoe, who he had been dating since 2020.

One wrote: “No more Bryony then? 😢”

Another added: “New girlfriend Tom....”

Whilst a third commented: “What happened to ur gf”.

Bryony confirmed that she and Tom had split up, during an Instagram Q&A just weeks after the photo was posted.

The former Pretty Little Thing model was asked whether she was single, to which she replied: "In a committed relationship with myself."

Meanwhile, in the dating world, fellow Strictly stars Molly Rainford and Tyler West confirmed their relationship earlier this month after meeting on the BBC show last year.
