Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury have been named the two most successful islanders of all time. The couple, who are both 24, came runners up on Love Island in 2019 and welcomed their first daughter, Bambi, on 23 January this year.

The news of their success comes just a day after the tenth series of Love Island kicked off on ITV last night (5 June). Viewers saw 10 singletons enter the Majorcan villa ready for a summer of love and drama.

Creditfix analysed all Love Island contestants, from series one to 10, to determine who has been the most successful and why. They looked at Instagram follower count, Instagram engagement rate, average likes per post, estimated amount earned per sponsored post, number of brand deals over the past two months, number of own brands, and number of their own TV shows, podcasts or books.

Molly-Mae, unsurprisingly, was at the top of the list as the blonde beauty’s 7.5 million Instagram followers gain her around £24,000 per sponsored post and over 500,000 average likes per post. After leaving the villa, Molly-Mae signed a £500,000 brand ambassador deal with PrettyLittleThing, before being appointed their Creative Director in 2021.

She also launched her own tanning brand, Filter by Molly Mae, and her own line of hair extensions with BeautyWorks. In June 2022, the Love Island star published a book titled ‘Becoming Molly-Mae’. She also appeared on mini series ‘The Boxer & The Ballroom Dancer’ in 2019, and made an appearance in an episode of ‘Tyson Fury: The Gypsy King’ in 2020.

Following close behind Molly-Mae is her boyfriend Tommy, who has over five million followers and earns around £17,800 per sponsored post. The professional boxer and brother of Tyson Fury has won seven professional bouts since leaving the villa, including in February this year, when he beat YouTuber Jake Paul in a highly anticipated match in Saudi Arabia. Shortly after leaving the villa, Tommy starred in ‘The Boxer & The Ballroom Dancer’, where he swapped careers with fellow islander Curtis Pritchard. He later made appearances in ‘Tyson Fury: The Gypsy King’ and ‘At Home with The Fury’s’.

Dani Dyer, Olivia Buckland, Scott Thomas, Alex Bowen, Alex George, Gemma Owen, Indiyah Polack and Chloe Burrows followed behind. However, Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea, who beat Molly-Mae and Tommy to the £50,000 prize, did not make it on to the list despite winning the fifth series.

All those in the top 10 were either winners, runners-up, or third place on the show - with the exception of Alex George who was the only one to be dumped. This suggests that to make it big after Love Island, you’ve got to do well during your time in the villa.

However, the social media ban, which was introduced in series nine, stops contestants’ family and friends from posting on their socials whilst they’re on the show - which will likely lead to fewer people following them and give them less means of making money when they leave the villa.
