‘I think he sounded great’- Fans on Liam Gallagher’s Oasis performance at Anthony Joshua v Daniel Dubois fight

Liam Gallagher performed at Wembley Stadium ahead of the big boxing clash last night

This was Liam's first live performance since Oasis announced their 2025 reunion shows. He performed three classic Oasis songs in front of a packed crowd that included Tyson Fury, Tommy Fury and Connor McGregor.

Liam sang ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Star’, ‘Supersonic’ and ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ ahead of the boxing clash which was won by Dubois. This was also his first show since finishing the ‘Definitely Maybe’ anniversary solo tour.

Oasis were the talk of the town a couple of weeks ago as they sold out shows across the UK. The tour will be their first back together since 2009, and takes place in summer 2025.

Liam performed at Wembley Stadium on what was his 52nd birthday. This weekend also sees his Malta takeover festival take place, and he will perform on the island tonight.

There were lots of negative comments in reaction to Liam’s performance, with people on social media chipping in on the debate. However, plenty of fans backed Liam and gave a warning to those who were criticising.

One fan wrote: “I think he sounded great. Any fair weather Oasis fans that have tickets to Live 25 I'll happily take them from you”

Another fan pointed out that the busy schedule Liam has had this year is possible a factor, but had plenty of praise for him. They wrote: “Liam comes from two tours this year, he had almost no rest and he is 52 years old, he is a rock star and it was an abysmal presentation. I listened to 25-year-old singers who can't reach the chorus of rock n roll star, Liam is biblical.”

Several comments pointed out that the passing of time between when Oasis were at their peak in the 1990s to the present day has  “He sounds exactly the same as he has for years.. he’s not gonna sound the same as he did 30 years ago.”

This afternoon (September 22) Liam Gallagher took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the negative comments. It was a typically fiery post.

Liam wrote: “To all those S******* who were crying about my ANGELIC TONES last night you ain’t real fans your just IMPOSTERS and if you do have tickets you wanna get rid off I’ll gladly take them off your hands we don’t want the likes of you at our concerts next year any way.”
