Love Island’s Molly-Mae Hague has returned to work just three months after giving birth to her first child, Bambi. She opened up about her return to work as PrettyLittleThing’s creative director in a new YouTube video.

In the video, the 26-year-old talked about how she was going on a work trip to Nice, France for a fashion show, leaving her newborn for the first time with her partner Tommy Fury. Molly-Mae explained how she considered taking her daughter with her but ultimately decided to go alone, as taking her baby to a new country for two days would be “selfish.”

She said: “I’m going on my first work trip to Nice after having a baby. It’s actually quite a big moment for me.I am so excited, but it’s a little bit bittersweet because it’s going to be my first time leaving my baby.

“She’s three months old now. It’s low key making me feel kind of sick. I’m not going to lie. You know that kind of homesick feeling you’d get.”

Molly-Mae’s quick return to work came following her need to pay the bills after not receiving a paid maternity leave. She explained:“At the end of the day, I am self-employed, so I have to work because there’s bills to pay.

“We’ve got a mortgage to pay, car bills to pay. I’ve got outgoings. I have to earn. I don’t get a maternity leave pay. You don’t when you’re self-employed, so I have to get back to work.”

Following her work trip, Molly-Mae embarked on another trip, this time with Bambi, to Dubai. She posted a snap on her Instagram story of her and Bambi with the caption “wish this trip would carry on forever. My happiest days since birth.” In a second story she said she would miss “the morning balcony karaoke sessions.”

Molly-Mae has been open about her journey as a new mum, having previously said that it has gotten better as Bambi is getting older.
