'I'm not racist, I'm protecting my child' say protestors at 'far-right' Britain First Manchester protest
Britain First is a ‘far-right’ political party which was formed in 2011 by former members of the British National Party.
Sam Ingham and Jordan Morris, a couple from Rossendale attended the Britain First protest in Manchester’s St. Peter’s Square on Saturday afternoon. We spoke with them to get a further understanding on why they had come to the protest and to get their opinion on what they think should change in Britain.

Jordan who has a young daughter, grew up in Rochdale around the time of the grooming scandal and spoke of her concerns for her own daughter living in Manchester. She said: “I don’t want my daughter to have to put up with eyes following her around on the street and the grooming, you should be allowed to walk around.”
Sam added: “This is our culture. This is Britain and we are proud people.”
On the topic of assimilation, Jordan said: “They’re going around and putting them up in hostels, they’re not doing things to help themselves. They’re sitting there on their arse while the council does it for them and they shouldn’t do that. We work, why can’t they work?”

When asked about asylum seekers coming to England to flee conflict and instability in their own country, Sam said: “F**k them all. F**k them all, that’s my opinion.”
Adding: “We’ve got our own wars, our own problems. They should stay there and rebuild their own country, not come here and try and live off ours and send money back to their countries. Not happening and it’s not right.”
Many believe Britain First and their supporters to be bigoted and racist, when asked what their opinion of that statement was, they said: “It’s not racist, it’s protecting my child.”
Adding: “Britain First are brilliant because they’re protecting the country and someone needs to protect the country. We’re all in danger and sooner or later there won’t be any white people in England.”
