Helen Flanagan has admitted that her close friends “held her” this year, following her break up from Bristol Rovers star Scott Sinclair. The former Coronation Street actress, 32, split from her fiancé in October 2022 after a 13-year relationship and three children.

Following a trip to Mykonos in Greece with her “really close friend” Kelvin Barron, and less than two weeks after she enjoyed a girls trip to Ibiza, Helen took to her Instagram Story. The I’m A Celeb star said: “It was really nice to go to Mykonos, I went with one of my really really close friends. I booked Ibiza with my really close friend Ashley and I booked Mykonos with my really close friend Kelvin. Yeah, I’m really really lucky, I’ve got like really close friends and especially like over this year, I’ve had really really close friends that have really held me.”

Helen was slammed by online trolls, who told her to “spend more time” with her kids, when she returned from Ibiza. After posting a picture from inside the island’s popular Wi-Ki Woo Hotel, some fans called the former Coronation Street actress “gorgeous” and “stunning”, but one Instagram user wrote: “You need to spend more time with your kids!”.

Posting a screenshot of the harmful comment on her Instagram story, Helen wrote: “I have never been on a girls holiday like that before as I’ve always stayed at home looking after the kids. Why is everything always on women? X”

However, it didn’t stop the blonde beauty jetting off again to the sunny Greek island whilst Scott’s mum, who she gets on “really well” with, looked after the youngsters; Matilda, seven, Delilah, five, and Charlie, two. She previously told The Sun: “I was with Scott aged 19-31, so that’s why I get on so well with his mum. So honestly it makes my life so easy because we hang out together. It’s really nice. It’s pretty drama free as I get on really well with her.”
