A group of clever clubgoers managed to dupe bouncers who wouldn't let them in over their white shoes - by using socks.

Rachael Silvester, 27, had gone out with friends Manchester to celebrate a birthday, when one boy in their group was turned away.

Staff on the door said white trainers weren't allowed - forcing the party to come up with a plan.

They then hit upon the genius idea of disguising the man's trainers to look like dress shoes - by covering them with Rachael's friend's socks.

Queuing up again, the friendship group were over the moon when the bouncers didn't even bat an eyelid at the DIY disguise - and the whole crowd made it into the club.

Freelance photographer Rachael, from Manchester, said: "He had arrived earlier than us and the bouncers refused to let him in and sent him away.

"Once we arrived, he told us what had happened and our friend Alex suggested the idea.

"Emily started taking off her shoes and then her black socks and stretched them over the guy's trainers so they looked black.

"I found it hilarious so started filming it knowing it would be funny to show people if we did end up getting away with it.

"We all then queued up and the bouncers let him in with no comments! We were all so amused and ended up having a great night."

The night out took place in December 2021.
