I want to raise as much money for this charity as possible - Bury pub raises £3,800 for Cancer Research
The pub hosted a charity fun day with the main goal of raising as much money as possible for Cancer Research.

The pub arranged events such as a tombola, raffle, guess the sweets in the jar and karaoke, with locals donating to try their hand at singing their favourite songs.

The Old White Lion team got involved too with the fun too – one team member went all out in head-to-toe pink, while a male guest embraced the theme in a full cheerleader costume.
Last Sunday, Operator Janine Jordan presented a cheque for £3,800 to the Bury branch of Cancer Research. The generous donation is anticipated to help improve many people’s lives who are struggling with the realities of cancer.
For Operator Janine Jordan, this cause is particularly close to home. She was mainly inspired to help her local community, she said: “To see the community come together to support such an important cause is a heart-warming and prime example of what makes our Bury community so brilliant.”

Adding: “The guests here at the Old White Lion are always keen to support our community and get behind any ideas we have, with our staff dressing up and locals braving being waxed and shaving their hair just some of the many examples of this.
Janine said: “My goal with this charity day is simple - to raise as much money as we can for a great cause. Watch this space as we’ve got plenty more ideas in the pipeline to raise funds for some brilliant charities!”
The pub is located on 6 Bolton Street, and doesn’t plan to stop fundraising any time soon!
