Where to catch the NHS art trail in Manchester city centre before it finishes

As a way of saying thank you to NHS staff and other key workers in the pandemic, a collection of 51 statues has gone on display in St Peter’s Square.

The statues, which have been decorated as part of The Gratitude in Art Trail, have been designed by different artists. They will eventually be auctioned off to raise money for NHS Charities Together.

Aiming to capture the stories and experiences that have connected us all through what has been a hugely challenging time, the free-to-visit exhibition will be in Manchester until Sunday 12 September, the feature will then be taken to Edinburgh and London.

The trail will also bring to the fore real-life stories and poems about key workers. These have been brought to life by working with a host of famous voices, including Adil Ray, Hugh Bonneville, Sarah Parish, Norman Cook, Christopher Eccleston, Julie Hesmondhalgh, John Thomson, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, Shobna Gulati and KT Tunstall.

Visitors to the trail will be able to access stories of doctors and nurses, teachers and more through the Gratitude App and website.
