1. Villagers will have to wait until the spring of next year for work to begin on a through road closed for more than 16 months. Residents and visitors to Barrow Bridge have had no through route since August, 2020, since a river retaining wall was damaged amid heavy rain and rising water.

2. Plans have been approved by the town hall to transform Stockport’s historic central library into a £14 million pound hub. Proposals to relocate the service to a ‘learning and discovery centre’ at Merseyway shopping centre were unanimously approved at a cabinet meeting.

3. Major proposals for Bury Town Centre are set to be approved by council leaders. A new masterplan for the next 15-20 years has been drawn up which includes a transformational revamp of the centre, setting out proposals for repurposing the Mill Gate estate with new leisure, residential and business opportunities.
