UK heatwave: When will it rain in Manchester? Met Office forecast how long the warm weather will last

Manchester has been experiencing some warmer temperatures as the UK has been gripped by a heatwave. As summer comes into full effect, many will be wondering when some cooler weather may be on the way. 

The city faced some massive thunderstorms and rain showers over the weekend which has left some areas flooded. The Met Office have forecast more rain on the way but it is expected to not be as intense as Sunday night’s storm. 

The Met Office has a yellow thunderstorm warning in place across Manchester until 9pm tonight with multiple flood alert warnings for several rivers across the country, although these are now starting to lower.

Monday, June 12

Monday will be a warm day with plenty of sunshine, however there will be a risk of heavy showers in the afternoon which could turn thundery. The Met Office has forecast rain due at 3pm, with thundery showers forecast at 4pm and rain continuing between 6pm - 9pm

Weather will feel hot between showers, that will gradually ease off in the evening, leaving a warm but muggy night. Maximum temperatures will reach 29°C, with lows of 20°C.

Tuesday, June 13

Tuesday will be largely dry with long periods of warm sunshine, however there will still be a risk of a potential thundery shower. Maximum temperatures will reach 28°C, with lows of 15°C.

Outlook for Wednesday, June 14 - Friday, June 16

High pressure will begin to build, making the weather more settled and dry, with long periods of warm sunshine. On Wednesday temperatures will reach highs of 25°C, with lows of 14°C.

Thursday’s temperatures will reach 25°C, with lows of 15°C, with Friday looking set to experience the same.
