He has dementia and type-two diabetes and does not have a mobile phone on him, and officers are keen to ensure he is safe and well as soon as possible amid mounting concern for his welfare. Police say he is known to the local bus operators so may have travelled out of the area he was last seen in.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) say anyone with information about Mr Abubakar’s whereabouts or who sees him should contact 0161 856 5850 or 101. The force has also requested any CCTV footage which might help the search.
