Golf plan rejected

Bolton Council has rejected plans to build a luxury golf course to host the Ryder Cup and more than 1,000 houses on the Hulton park estate.

The planned golf course was one of just two venues short-listed to host one of golf’s biggest events in 2031.

Air zone signs

The cost of putting stickers on hundreds of out-of-date Clean Air Zone signs will not be covered by the £3million contract paid for by Greater Manchester.

Transport bosses have confirmed that the contract awarded to McCann in September will not cover the cost of the 1,194 stickers needed.
