The weather is not looking good for Manchester tomorrow  – or the rest of summer.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Manchester tomorrow (2 August), with heavy showers and thunderstorms expected for most of the day.

Mancunians have been warned that thunderstorms could cause flooding and disrupt travel on Wednesday. The warning is in place from 9am to 7pm.

Weather experts have also warned of lightning strikes, which could cause damage to buildings, as well as dangerous driving conditions due to spray, standing water and/or hail. Therefore, if you are planning on being out and about tomorrow, plan for extra journey time.

There could also be some loss of power and disruptions to train services are possible.
