Manchester supermarket opening hours Easter 2023: what time are Asda and Tesco open over bank holiday weekend?

The supermarket chains will have altered opening times over the Easter weekend

The Easter weekend is coming up soon, and with it comes not one, but two bank holidays. As a result, supermarket opening times will differ on potentially all four days.

Supermarkets in Manchester will have different opening times starting on Good Friday, and many will be closed on Easter Sunday. Here are the opening times for the major supermarkets in Manchester across the upcoming bank holiday weekend.

Aldi

Good Friday, April 7: 8am - 10pm
Easter Saturday April 8: 8am - 10pm
Easter Sunday April 9: CLOSED
Easter Monday April 10: 8am - 8pm

The supermarket recommends checking this as store opening times vary depending on location.

Tesco

Many Tesco stores will operate normal opening hours on Good Friday, and all of their large stores in England will be closed on Easter Sunday.

Express stores in Manchester will be open, however. Easter Monday opening hours will vary depending on location and size of the store. To confirm the opening hours of your nearest Tesco store, visit the store locator on the Tesco website.

Asda

Friday, April 7 - 7am-10pm
Saturday, April 8 - 7am-10pm
Sunday, April 9 - CLOSED
Monday, April 10 - 7am-8pm

Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s stores will be pretty much open as normal across Easter weekend. The only exception is that large stores will be closed on Easter Sunday.

Co-op

During bank holidays and special times of year some of our stores may open later and close earlier than normal. You can check opening times for your local Co-op online.

Waitrose

On Good Friday (April 7) and Easter Monday (April 10), most Waitrose shops will be open from 8am-8pm, with some Little Waitrose shops opening 6am-midnight.

All Waitrose shops will be open as usual on Saturday April 8.

Most Waitrose shops in England, Scotland and Wales will close on Easter Sunday (April 9). For information on opening times for stores near you, visit the store locator
