School term dates have been announced for the 2022/23 academic year as students across the Manchester region return to the classroom.

Thousands of pupils will be heading back to their school desks after just over five weeks at home over the summer holidays.

Schools in Manchester will be opening their doors for the 2022/23 academic year on Thursday 1 September 2022.

When is the October 2022 school half term in Manchester?

Having spent seven weeks readjusting to being back in the classroom, pupils in Manchester will break up for the October half term on Friday 21 October 2022, and head back to school on Monday 31 October 2022.

When is the Christmas 2022 school holiday in Manchester?

The festive feeling often arrives for students as they say their goodbyes to friends and return home for their Christmas holidays.

For the 2022/23 Christmas holidays, schools in Manchester will shut on Friday 16 December 2022, and reopen again on Tuesday 3 January 2023.
