Manchester road closures for roadworks this week: 10-17January 2022

Drivers in and around Manchester will have 20 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Motorists are being warned of a number of pre planned roadworks this week.

And 11 of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that nine closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 11pm January 6 to 5am January 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anticlockwise, junction 9 - six lane closures and slip road closures due to sign works.

• M56, from 8pm December 15 2020 to 6am January 15 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 5 exit slip lane one closed due to general maintenance.

• M60, from 5am December 6 2021 to 6am March 1 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 3 to A34 southbound, lane closures due to barrier repairs.

• M60, from 8pm December 20 2021 to 5am April 9 2022, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 5 to 3 lane closures and slip road closure due to barrier repairs.

• M56, from 8.30pm December 13 2021 to 6am April 9 2022, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 2 - three lane closures and slip road closures due to barrier repairs.

• A5103, from 9pm January 1 to 11pm May 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): Manchester City Embargo - two hours before game.

• A5103, from midday, January 1 to 11pm May 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): Manchester City Embargo = two hours after game.

• M56, from midday, January 4 to 11.59pm December 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 4 to junction 3A - Hard Shoulder Only for Structure maintenance.

• M56, from 1pm January 4 to 11.59pm December 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 westbound, A5103 to J3A - Hard Shoulder Only for Structure - maintenance.

And a further 11 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M60, from 8pm January 10 to 6am January 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anticlockwise, junction 19 - 18 lane closures and slip road closures due to sign works.

• M60, from 8pm January 11 to 5am January 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 21 to 22 - carriageway closure for signs - Erection.

• A5103, from 9pm January 11 to 6am January 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 6 - three - A5103 southbound, M60 - Palatine Road lane closure and carriageway closures due to bridge works.

• M56, from 7am to 9am on January 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 westbound, junction 4 exit slip road closure due to traffic light repair.

• A5103, from 8pm January 17 to 5am January 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5013 southbound, Pallantine Road to M56 hard shoulder and lane one closure due to structure maintenance.

• A5103, from 8pm January 17 to 5am January 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A5103 northbound, J3A to M60 - Lane closure for signs - Erection.

• A5103, from 8pm January 17 to 5am January 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 2 - four lane closures due to sign erection.

• A5103, from 9pm January 17 to 6am January 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 6 - three - A5103 southbound, M60 - Palatine Road lane closure and carriageway closures due to bridge works.

• A5103, from 8pm January 19 to 5am January 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5103 northbound, Altrincham Road to Wythenshawe Road - Lane closure for signs.

• M60, from 11pm January 21 to 5am January 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 5 to 4 lane closures due to communication works.

• M60, from 8pm January 24 to 5am February 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J3 to J5 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
