Manchester Pride 2023: Full list of road closures in place across the city including for Pride Parade

Manchester is gearing up to host thousands of people for Pride 2023. The weekend-long event also includes the Pride Parade which will traverse its way through the city. 

The parade takes place on Saturday August 26, with Pride weekend getting underway the day before. The city is set to be a wash with colour and a party atmosphere for the duration of the weekend.

Manchester City Council has announced which roads will be closed around the city for pride weekend 2023. These will be of relevance to anyone within Manchester across the weekend, regardless of whether you are going to Pride. 

The full list of road closures from the council are listed below. Full information on public transport has already been published.

Roads closed for the full weekend

Roads closed from 6am Friday August 25 until 6am on Tuesday August 29

  • Minshull Street (Major Street to Auburn Street)

  • Major Street (Sackville Street to Princess Street)

  • Abingdon Street (Major Street to Sackville Street)

  • Hart Street (full length)

  • Bloom Street (full length excluding Chorlton Street and Sackville Street junctions)

  • Richmond Street (full length excluding Chorlton Street and Sackville Street junctions)

  • Brazil Street (full length)

  • Little David Street (full length)

Roads closed from 11am on Friday August 25 until 6am on Tuesday August 29

  • Chorlton Street (Major Street to Whitworth Street)

  • Sackville Street (Major Street to Whitworth Street)

Saturday August 26: Roads closed for the Pride Parade

Road closures in the city centre for the Pride Parade may also affect bus and tram journeys and traffic on the Inner Ring Road. Please add extra time to your journey.
