Manchester Pride Festival 2023 is well underway and thousands of people have been taking part in the city-wide celebrations – including the annual parade, which took place on Saturday.
The theme of this year’s parade was “Queerly Beloved” in honour of the tenth anniversary of the marriage equality act.
A procession of performers and representatives from various community groups, organisations and charities set off from Liverpool Road at 12pm and went on toDeansgate, Peter Street, Oxford Road, Portland Street, Princess Street, Whitworth Street. The parade concluded at Fairfield Street, on the other side of the Gay Village’s massive weekend-long party.
