Overhead damage found at Piccadilly- full list of lines affected including Manchester Airport services

Some lines out of Manchester Piccadilly have been affected by overhead line faults. The continued issue comes after trains were delayed and cancelled on Thursday due to power failure at the station.

National Rail announced shortly after 9am on Thursday that engineers on the scene have made repairs and power has been restored. The operator had announced that the power failure was affecting platforms 13 and 14.

At around 8pm, National Rail posted an update to say the affected lines had reopened. yet on Friday morning (January 26) the Network Rail page said that there was further disruption. Shortly before 3pm today, Network Rail issued a further update. Damage has been found to overhead lines between Piccadilly and Manchester Airport.
