Manchester nightclub G-A-Y to host drop-in Covid vaccine clinic

A pop-up Covid vaccination clinic will be set up in a club in Manchester’s Gay Village this weekend.

On Saturday 11 September, nightclub G-A-Y will be offering sessions for people to stop by and get their first or second Covid-19 jabs, without the need to book an appointment.

Second jabs are open to people who had their first dose at least eight weeks ago.

The clinic is open to people aged 18 and above, offering doses of the Pfizer vaccine, between 12pm and 4pm.

It comes as the Government is set to introduce ‘vaccine passports’ for nightclubs and large indoor events later this month.

Coun Joanna Midgley, executive member for health at Manchester City Council, said: “It has been wonderful to see our city once again thriving in recent weeks.

“The recent Pride weekend has shown what an important place the Village is for Mancunians.

“It’s fabulous to see that G-A-Y have opened their doors for such an important cause and I hope as many people take advantage of this pop up.”
