Manchester Marathon 2022 route changes and what highlights to expect according to organisers

Runners take your mark as the Therme Manchester Marathon gets set to return on Sunday 3 April.

Last year the Marathon was postponed to October as a result of the coronavirus pandemic but now the race has returned to its usual spot in spring.

For the first time last year the route rook runners through parts of the city centre as well as its usual route through Trafford.

The section in the city centre has been slightly reduced for 2022 due to roadworks taking place.
