There will be a big celebration for one half of Manchester this evening as thousands of Manchester City fans gather in the city centre for their team’s open-top bus parade celebrating their treble win.

The club’s victory was sealed on Saturday when they beat Inter Milan 1-0 in the Champions League final in Istanbul. This completes the historic treble after the team’s victory in both the Premier League and FA Cup.

This is the 14th trophy victory for manager Pep Guardiola, who took on the role in 2016. Looking ahead to next season, this historic win for the club means they now get a chance to play in the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup for the first time.

As is tradition, the team will celebrate with fans in Manchester city centre. Here’s what you need to know about the parade if you’re planning to take part.

The route and how to get in

The squad and manager Guardiola will be leaving Tonman Street, Deansgate, on an open-top bus at approximately 6.30pm. From there, they will head to St Mary’s Gate, then Cross Street and King Street, finishing on the corner of Princess Street and Portland Street.

A stage has been set up on Oxford Street and live entertainment will begin at 5.30pm. The team are expected on the stage at 7.30pm.Entry to the stage area can be found on the corner of Portland Street and Oxford Street, opening at 5pm.

This is not a ticketed event and entry is free. Security bag checks will be in operation.

Entertainment

The parade is hosted by the club’s City Square presenters Danny Jackson and Natalie Pike. You can also expect special guests and former players, as well as live music and DJs. Three DJ booths have also been set up along the parade route to keep the crowds entertained.
