Work on the North Stand, including a huge new hotel, will see capacity pass 60,000. There will also be 3,000 safe-standing rail seats after consultation with fans.
There’s a chance some of those fans might even remember standing at Maine Road, or heard a family member talk about those days of years gone by.
As City press on with a bright future we thought there was no harm in having a nostalgic look at the past. So here’s some iconic Maine Road scenes from down the years, right the way from a 1951 training session to the final game in 2003.
