A Northern Quarter basement bar is set to reopen four years after closing. 

Hold Fast, underneath a former bowler hat factory on Newton Street, closed its doors in 2019. But the nautical themed bar - complete with a secret cinema room showing cult classics and a range of retro Sego games to take you back to your youth - is opening its doors again on November 29.

Part of Selina Manchester, it will be the fifth spot managed by the group following Wilson’s Social, The Corner Boy, Wilson's Den and Creatures Comedy Club.

The vibe is inspired by the tales of Jules Verne, whose novels include the likes of Around The World in Eighty Days and Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea.

Dimly-lit with ship lanterns and candles, Hold Fast’s sailor’s drinking quarter has a wide selection of craft beers and cocktails. There’s also resident DJs and open mic nights.
