Manchester Airport police video: 10 pictures as protestors gather outside Andy Burnham's office and stop trams

Demonstrators have stopped trams in Manchester City Centre in the wake of a video showing a Greater Manchester Police officer kicking a man in the head as he lay on the floor.

Footage shared on social media, filmed at Manchester Airport’s terminal two on Tuesday, shows the officer - who has now been suspended - stamp on the head of a man.

The teenager is 'fighting for his life', a lawyer representing the family has claimed. Akhmed Yakoob says the man - believed to be Fahir Khan, 19 - has a cyst on the brain and has been admitted to hospital.

Speaking to reporters outside Rochdale police station, Mr Yakoob said Fahir's health has declined since the incident. He said: "He has got a brain injury. He has been diagnosed with a cyst on his brain."

A Stand Up To Racism march on Thursday night saw protestors gather outside Andy Burnham’s office before blocking tram tracks.
