Manchester Airport issues: have you experienced long queues? Here are passengers’ views

Manchester Airport said staff shortages had left them struggling recently as the demand for international travel increases.

Hundreds of travellers have been left waiting outside due to long queues for security on certain days in March, with some even missing their flight.

The problem initially started on Wednesday 16 March into Thursday, with the airport blaming high traveller numbers and an unusually large number of bags which did not comply with security rules.

They have also apologised and explained a major recruitment drive is underway to help staff levels recover from the impact of the pandemic on travel.
