Man dies after being electrocuted by pylon near M60 in Manchester

A man has died after being electrocuted by a pylon in Manchester.

Emergency services including fire fighters, parademics and police were called to the scene near the M60, close to Princess Parkway, at 5.30pm on Wednesday (16 March).

A Greater Manchester police spokesman said: “Emergency services attended and sadly a male was pronounced dead at the scene.

“There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances and a report is being prepared for HM Coroner.”

The road remained closed for several hours following the incident. No further circumstances of how the man came to be there have been confirmed.
