Hide AdLucy & Yak is one of the fastest growing fashion brands in the UK, having started out with a range of colourful dungarees 2017 and then expanding into the full range of clothes and accessories that they have today.
They position themselves as a transparent, sustainable and ethical brand, encouraging customers to upcycle and mend their clothing, or return and repair items via their Re:Yak scheme, available in all their stores. All their clothes are also made from organic fabrics or recycled and designed to be long-lasting. There is also a Lucy & Yak, where they sell all the old lines and defective clothing.
Inclusivity is also important to the Lucy & Yak brand as their whole range is unisex and and they come in a full range of sizes.
The brand has already proven successful in Manchester. At the start of the year, they held an imperfects sale at the People’s History Museum, which saw crowds queuing outside the door.

Hide AdLucy & Yak is the perfect store to be taking over the High Street unit. Oklahoma was a Manchester institution that had a 25-year history in the Northern Quarter. It was an independent gift and homeware store that still has an online shop.
There is no confirmation as to when the new store will be open, but there are already posters in the shop window and it looks like work is being done on the inside. The Manchester store already has its own Instagram page.
