Love Island 2022: Who is new male contestant Remi Lambert, what age is he and what does he do?

Love Island has been back on screens for just over a week now, and has delivered the usual drama we expect from one of the UK’s most popular reality TV shows.

With Love Island having been somewhat of a revolving door early on, with many departures and arrivals already occurring, two new arrivals are set to grace our screens on tonight’s episode.

Here’s what we know about the new male contestant from Manchester who is set to be unveiled tonight.

Who is the person from Manchester set to enter the villa?

With Manchester having low representation so far, with only Gemma Owen loosely linked to the big city, being from Cheshire and her father playing for the red half of the city, one of the new arrivals has firm links.

His name is Remi Lambert, and will be comfortable on screen as he has previously worked as a model prior to entering the Love Island villa.

He currently resides in Manchester, and has recently admitted that Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague, who are now both based in Manchester following their stints on the show, inspired him to take the plunge and head into the villa.

Ahead of his much anticipated entrance into the villa, he said: “I am single! When I saw Molly and Tommy, and saw how strong they are together, I thought, I want a love like that”.

And, it’s clear to see why. In the now eight series (including the current one) Molly and Tommy have grown to become one of the strongest couples post-Love Island, with both of them regarding the other as their soulmate.

How old is Remi Lambert?

The new arrival is around the age that most islanders are on the show, and he is 22-years-old. He admitted that he’s ready to settle down, and ‘find something more serious’.

How tall is he?

Remi is surely set to get the attention of the girls in the villa as he stands at an impressive 6”3, but wants a girl that stands at almost the same height, revealing he’d like a girl to be ‘at least’ 5”10.

He’s already amassed a pretty decent following, and has around 13,000 followers, a number which is likely to soar should he go far in the show.

What has happened on Love Island so far?

We’re a week into Love Island, and already so much has happened.

For the first time ever, the public voted for the initial coupling, instead of participants stepping forward.

Then, immediately, Davide was a late entrance, and picked Gemma, leaving Liam as the first single boy in the villa.

Liam then quit the show, saying he just ‘wasn’t enjoying the experience’ and left just before a re-coupling.

New couples were made, as a recoupling occurred at the end of week one, with the new couples being:

Amber and Dami

Tasha and Andrew

Gemma and Luca

Indiyah and Ikenna

Ekin-Su and Davide

These couples left Paige and Afia single.

Prior to Liam’s departure, Ekin-Su and Afia Tonkmor were also added in, with Afia being dumped just last night, saving nurse Paige.

She was dumped due to a new arrival, as in a great twist Gemma’s ex, Jacques was added in, picking Paige meaning Afia left the villa for good.
