People across the region will be heading to the polls on Thursday (4 May) to cast their vote in local elections, and we went out onto the streets in Manchester to see what they thought of having their say on local politics.

Council elections are held three years in every four, usually in May, and councillors from each of the 10 boroughs in Greater Manchester will be battling it out for votes.

For the first time ever, voters will need a valid form of ID to obtain a ballot paper. This could be a passport, driving license, or a free Voter Authority Certificate.
