Leigh Film Factory: the new community cinema in an historic mill built by a team of volunteer movie fans

The 110-seat venue is on the fourth floor of the landmark Leigh Spinners Mill and will host an array of film screenings and special events as well as being available for hire.

A group of film enthusiasts has built a new community cinema for Greater Manchester.

Leigh Film Factory is a new 110-seat venue located on the fourth floor of the historic Leigh Spinners Mill and is the brainchild of the cinema enthusiasts at Leigh Film Society.

The new cinema, which uses a lot of recycled and upcycled materials to make it as green as possible as well as having an ethos of supporting local businesses, will host the annual Wigan and Leigh Film Festival and regular movie screenings as well as being available for hire.

We sent our reporter Emma Higgins to have a look around and meet the team behind the cinema.
