Laughterama is heading to Manchester later this year and will bring five nights of open-air comedy along with craft beer, street food and more to the city.

The all-new comedy festival organised by comedy-loving duo Will Briggs and Cass Randolph will feature the biggest names in stand-up alongside the brightest new talents.

Speaking about the festival, Will Briggs said: “We’ve been dreaming of bringing this festival to Manchester for a long time now. The city should absolutely have a stand-out event showcasing the wealth of comedy talent around at the moment. There’s a golden age for comedy right now, with so many platforms to enjoy amazing content.

“Many of our acts have their own TV or podcast series, but nothing beats live, and we can’t wait to put these acts in front of a Manchester crowd. We already know the shows are going to be electric.”

When is Laughterama festival 2022?

The event will take place over five days this autumn, from Wednesday 21 September to Sunday 25 September.

The festival will take place at the open-air Castlefield Bowl arena in the Castlefield area of Manchester.

The outdoor events pavilion is often used for food festivals and music gigs and has a capacity of around 8,000.

Deansgate Railway Station is situated less than half a mile from Castlefield Bowl and the Deansgate-Castlefield tram stop is also located nearby.

There is no specific event parking, but there are many car parks nearby.

Who’s on the line-up for Laughterama festival 2022?

The festival will be headlined by James Acaster, Dylan Moran, British Comedy Award winner Aisling Bea, Taskmaster’s Phil Wang, Josh Widdicombe, the Last Leg’s Rosie Jones, and Daniel Kitson.

Other acts include Nish Kumar, Milton Jones, Regi­nald D Hunter, Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Rose Matafeo and Manchester comedian Stephen Bailey.

How do I get tickets for Laughterama, and how much are they?

Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased via the Laughterama website.

General admission tickets cost £27.50 (£25 per ticket plus a per ticket booking fee of £2.50).

What are the festival rules?

Festivalgoers are asked to bring just one medium-sized bag per person to the event, as this will speed up security checks.

Food or drink is not allowed inside the event, and you will be asked to leave it outside.

Laughterama festival is open to people aged 16+, and any under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
