Kyle Hackland: 16-year-old due in court over murder of teenager in Withington

Kyle died after being stabbed on Southlea Road on 22 November.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder following the death of a Manchester teenager.

Kyle Hackland, 17, was fatally stabbed at around 11.30am on Southlea Road, Withington, last Tuesday (22 November). A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with murder and possession of a bladed article on Wednesday night, GMP said. He was remanded into custody and is due to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court today (1 December).

Following Kyle’s death, his family paid tribute to him, saying: “He was such a kind and well-mannered young boy who always looked out for his family – never failing to say ‘love you’ as he walked out the door.”
