The ceremony where Manchester officially recognised King Charles III as monarch of Great Britain and Northern Ireland took place yesterday.

Proclamation ceremonies have been taking place around the country over the weekend and Manchester hosted its own to the Central Library on Sunday 11 September.

These ceremonies are historic events to declare the new sovereign once the previous has passed.

Manchester officials gathered to read the proclamation aloud and recognise our new King.
