Police were called to two incidents in Manchester city centre at the weekend involving groups of youths.

The first saw a 16-year-old boy stabbed in Next in the Arndale centre on Friday night, after an ‘altercation’ with a group of young people.

And on Sunday afternoon, police were called to disperse a large group of young people ‘acting in an anti-social manner’ outside the Arndale.

It comes two weeks after after police put in a dispersal order after a large number of youths - many in school uniform - were fighting in Piccadilly Gardens on Friday 14 January.

We took to the streets of Manchester to ask people if they feel safe in the city centre and what can be done to improve things.

GMP were approached for comment.
