Here’s how you can check if you’re eligible for the rebate, how to check your tax band and more.
What is the price cap?
The price cap is updated twice a year and tracks the cost of wholesale energy.
It’s ‘for the people’ and stops energy companies from making an excessive amount of money, ensuring customers pay a fair, going rate for energy.

What is the rebate?
The government has announced a £150 one-off payment will be made, to assist with energy costs.
After the world starts to return to life as normal after the numerous Covid-19 lockdowns, energy prices have soared.
In the last year, the price of energy alone has quadrupled.
This rebate will not need to be repaid as it is part of a scheme to help those who may not be able to afford the surge in energy costs.
