Greater Manchester weather latest with fresh Met Office warning issued as strong winds on the way

There may be no more snow falling, but bitterly cold temperatures have made it an icy cold day across Manchester. Temperatures are expected to remain below 2C today, with a 'feels like' temperature of much lower.
There was already a Met Office yellow snow and ice warning for large parts of the country, including Manchester. Warnings are in place on January 16, 17 and 18 for either snow and ice or just snow.
Freezing overnight
The Met Office forecast for Greater Manchester shows that temperatures overnight will drop to below freezing.
Up until noon tomorrow (January 17) the temperature across the region may be down at as low as -2C.

Schools remain open
Snow and ice have hit the region this morning, but local authorities have said no schools are closed as a result.
Oldham Borough Council, Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, Rochdale Borough Council, Trafford Council and Manchester City Council schools have not been closed.
