Returning for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic, people are being invited to join in with a programme of free, organised group walks taking place across the city-region.

The Let’s Walk GM Walking Festival 2022 is an opportunity for people to walk more in May by joining in with a programme of free, organised group walks.

With more than 200 walks on offer, you can view their website to search for walks by area, distance, day or date or how easy or challenging the walk is.

The return of the walking festival comes as data from Sports England’s Active Lives survey showed that 30 percent of adults in the region were found to be missing out on the benefits of movement during the height of the pandemic, so it is hoped that this year’s festival encourages more people to get walking.
