Greater Manchester police officer Lee Ashcroft charged with making an indecent photograph of a child

A Greater Manchester Police (GMP) officer has been charged with making an indecent image of a child.

PC Lee Ashcroft has been charged with the making of an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child, the force said on Friday (5 November).

The 38-year-old, who works in GMP’s Transport Unit, was arrested on 12 October 2020 and has remained suspended from his job since that date.

He will appear at Tameside Magistrates’ Court on 16 December 2021.
