GCSE results day 2023: Students celebrate their results at Co-op Academy Manchester

Today (August 24) over half a million students collected their GCSE grades throughout the country.

Many students headed to schools across the North West to find out their grades and we went down to Co-op Academy Manchester in Higher Blackley to speak to some of them.

Results have returned to pre-pandemic levels, similar to those in 2019, and - as with A-level results last week - are lower than in 2022.

Despite the raised grade boundaries, teens from Co-op Academy Manchester walked away feeling pleased with their results - and many had smiles on their faces as they planned their next steps in education.
