With Easter holidays upon us, millions of Brits are looking for a getaway for the school break, with many choosing to fly from Manchester Airport. The airport is set to see over 1.1 million people fly to and from 158 destinations with more than 7,300 flights between April 1 and April 16.

With the most popular destinations being some of Britain’s favourite holiday spots for decades, the top 10 sees Dublin, Alicante, Tenerife and Amsterdam all in the top 5. But the biggest difference this year compared to the same time last year is Dubai claiming the top spot, up from sixth.

Dubai in first place in 2023 can be explained by people flying to the Middle Eastern hub for connecting flights to other, more distant parts of the world. Belfast International is a new entry on the top 10 most popular destinations from Manchester, replacing Malaga.

Manchester Airport managing director Chris Woodroofe said: “Easter is always a hugely popular time to get away, as people look to take advantage of the school holidays and grab a bit of Spring sunshine.

“Manchester Airport is the UK’s global gateway in the north, and that means we have a wide range of destinations for travellers from all parts of the region to choose from – whether that’s a city break, a European resort or a far-flung long-haul getaway.”

If you are looking for a cheap Easter getaway, EasyJet offers flights from Manchester to destinations like Palma for as little as £25.99 on specific dates in April.
