The family of a man found dead at a property in Salford whose death is the subject of a murder investigation by police has paid tribute to him.

David Toulson, 40, was remembered as “our beloved son, brother and uncle”.

What happened to David Toulson?

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said that at around 5.25pm on Saturday 25 June the force received a report of concern for the welfare of an individual at a property on Adelphi Street in Salford.

Emergency services attended and David was pronounced dead at the scene.

What has his family said about him?

Paying tribute to David, his family said in a statement: “It’s with a heavy heart and disbelief that our beloved son, brother and uncle Dave, tragically lost his life on 25 June 2022.

“As a family we are heartbroken beyond belief to have lost him so young. He will be forever in our hearts and missed by many.”

James Johnson, 29, was charged with murder by police and remanded in custody.

He is due before a judge at Manchester Crown Court on Thursday (30 June).
