Following the re-introduction of some coronavirus safety regulations, there have been some conflicting sentiments expressed by people in government about what this actually means.

On the one hand there is no legal requirement for people to cancel Christmas parties or stop close contact with others, and masks are not required in hospitality settings.

However, masks are now mandatory in shops and on public transport, and the public are being urged to use “common sense” when meeting others.

Larger businessess have been advised by one minister to “re-think” their Christmas party plans.
