

Cheapest and most expensive places to rent in Greater Manchester – including rent increases in each borough
Here are the average monthly rent prices for all Greater Manchester and how much they have increased in the last year.
Renters in Greater Manchester are starting to feel the pinch as new data shows rent prices have increased by at least 10% in all 10boroughs compared to last year.
According to the latest rental market report by real estate website Zoopla, Salford has seen the highest rise in rent per month at 15.9% and Tameside has the lowest rise at 9.8%. The rent increases in the other eight boroughs over the last year all range between 11-14%.
Looking at rent increases in England, Scotland and Wales overall, the three local authorities with the highest rent increases in the last are all in London, with Newham at the top, followed by Tower Hamlets and Greenwich. At the other end of the scale, Richmondshire has the lowest rent increase, followed by Purbeck in the South West and Breckland in East England.
Here are all the rent price increases in all Greater Manchester boroughs, ranked from most expensive rent to least.

1. Manchester
As of 1 January, 2023 Manchester has the highest average rent price in Greater Manchester at £1,104 per month. 2. Trafford
