London famed bakery chain Gail’s is opening its much anticipated branch on King Street this week - its third to open this year in the city.

Gail’s, which was established in 2005 and has 79 bakeries in London, Oxford, Brighton and beyond will be opening the doors to its King Street store on Wednesday June 7, with an outside terrace on the historic and upmarket street, in a city that is home to other London businesses like MNKY HSE, The Vurger Co, China White and Mahiki - who all now have branches in Manchester.

The much loved bakery say they “believe in making good bread” and “insist on the finest ingredients” to make freshly baked loaves, pastries, cakes, breakfasts and lunches, all crafted with lots of tender loving care.

Gail’s also encourages a no waste ethos and offers a ‘waste not’ range consisting of a seasonal selection made with ingredients including wonky fruit and off cuts, which may otherwise not be used and go to waste.

Fluffy croissants filled with almonds or ham and cheese, cinnamon swirls, maple bacon brioche and chocolate babka are just some of the much loved and famed wares on offer and they also have their own house blend of coffee beans.

Branches have already opened in Wilmslow and Altrincham, with a Didsbury branch currently in the making. This will be Gail’s third bakery in the region.

As part of a rapid expansion in the North West it launched its first northern outpost in Wilmslow in Cheshire in February attracting queues down the street, before rapidly following with the opening of a Gail’s Altrincham bakery in March.

The site on King Street will see the bakery join the likes of El Gato Negro, Tast Catala, Franco Manco and Petit Paris Deli. Gail’s will be open its Manchester bakery to the public from June 7 and will be trading from 6.30am-6pm Sunday-Friday and until 7pm on Saturdays.

Find Gail’s at 46 King Street, Manchester, M2 4LG.
