Boxx 2 Boxx Coffee: inside Manchester coffee shop run by I’m A Celeb winner and ex-Man City star Jill Scott

The former Manchester City Women and England midfield who has also just become a reality TV champ also has a business in the city which could be seeing a lot more customers come through the door.

She’s the queen of the jungle and a midfield icon to generations of football fans - but I’m A Celebrity....Get Me Out of Here! winner Jill Scott also has a coffee shop in Manchester.

Jill, who became a household name as part of the England women’s football team, or Lionesses, opened Boxx 2 Boxx Coffee with her fiancee Shelly Unitt in the city in 2021. The Northenden establishment is named after the former Manchester City Women player’s role as a box-to-box midfielder.

Jill, who has received the MBE, was part of the Lionesses squad that won the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 tournament on home soil and is now a reality TV star to boot after being crowned the winner in the Australian jungle.

Where is Boxx 2 Boxx Coffee?

Boxx 2 Boxx Coffee opened in April 2021 and is located on Palatine Road in the Northenden area of Manchester. Jill and Shelly, who is the sister of former Arsenal and England player Rachel Unitt, say on the website that the venue is a celebration of “the most important things in life”, which are listed as “family, football and coffee”.

The coffee shop is definitely something of a family affair as Shelly’s youngest daughter Hattie is listed on the website as part of the team for her role helping out at weekends when she is not studying.

Jill Scott has been crowned the winner of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

A number of famous footballing faces have also been seen popping into Boxx 2 Boxx since it opened for a flat white. Notable players who have posted on social media about dropping in for a coffee include Manchester City and England stars like Phil Foden and Steph Houghton, fellow Lionesses such as Manchester United Women striker Alessia Russo and Aston Villa’s Rachel Daly, and Casey Stoney who now manages San Diego Wave in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in the USA.

Jill has spoken of how she developed a love of good coffee while she was travelling around during her sports career.

Boxx 2 Boxx fully supported Jill during her time in the jungle, offering items such as a bushtucker pick ‘n’ mix for those wanting to get into the spirit of the programme and posting on Instagram and Facebook to encourage people to vote for her.

The venue is also used for a number of local community events, putting on a games night and hosting crochet workshops.
